ADA Support & Learning Hub

As we enter 2021, we are provided with the opportunity to reflect on the year that came before us. For many, 2020 was extremely stressful; anxiety, depression, loneliness, social isolation and increased alcohol and drug use became widely reported concerns.

However, 2021 is a new year, and with that, comes a chance for a fresh start. So why not begin with a ‘positive focus’?

For some of us, 2021 is the year to start looking after our mental and physical wellbeing. Fortunately, the partnership between the ETU and Alcohol and Drug Awareness Australia (ADA Australia) provides us all with an opportunity to do just that.

Introducing the Support & Learning Hub

Our partnership with Alcohol and Drug Awareness Australia (ADA Australia) aims for all ETU members and your families to ‘Stay Safe and Be Well’ by providing you with resources, advice and assistance for getting help when you need it.

Now we are proud to announce the launch of the most exciting resource yet, the ETU Support and Learning Hub, a one-stop shop for all of ADA Australia’s services.

The ETU Support and Learning Hub contains ADA Australia’s publications in E-Book format, including:

A range of engaging and informative webinars covering the key training courses offered by ADA Australia are also available on the Hub. These are presented in a friendly, conversational style (more like a Ted Talk than a training course) and can be accessed at any time. They include:

The Hub is there to help you grow your knowledge concerning mental health, alcohol and drugs, and is available 24 hours a day. Anonymity and confidentiality are assured at all times.

About the ADA and ETU Partnership

ADA Australia provides mental health and alcohol and drug awareness training, together with a range of associated services, for ETU members and your families.

The 15 training programs on offer cover a range of workplace mental health matters – such as recognising the symptoms of anxiety, depression and suicide – as well as alcohol and drug awareness training, suicide prevention, gendered violence and a youth program.

All of ADA Australia’s programs are delivered by trainers with lived experience of addiction and of walking the long road back to health.

ADA Australia also provides a 24-hour telephone helpline, ‘A Friendly Ear’, which is available to all ETU members and their families. If you are carrying any concerns of mental health or other disorders, or are concerned about a family member or workmate, ADA Australia’s friendly Ear service is always there, always ready for the call.

You can find out more and book in for one of the ADA Australia courses at the Centre for U.
