Applying for an electrical apprenticeship in Victoria involves several important steps and considerations. The following guide will assist you in the process:

1. Complete a Certificate II Pre-Apprenticeship

Obtaining a Certificate II in Electrotechnology (pre-apprenticeship) is a beneficial preparatory step. To proceed:

Find a Registered Training Organisation (RTO): Seek an RTO offering the Certificate II qualification. Examples include:

• Kangan TAFE
• GOTAFE

Course Content: Includes essential topics such as electrical safety, fundamental electrical principles, and workplace communication.

2. Prepare Your Resume and Cover Letter

Ensure your application materials are professional and tailored:

3. Apply for an Apprenticeship

Upon successful completion of all Certificate III trade modules and after your employer has verified your profiling records, you will become eligible to sit the Licensed Electrical Assessment (LEA) examinations. The LEA consists of three components:

• Licensed Electrical Theory Exam
• Licensed Electrical Practical Exam
