Cbus Super, your industry super fund

Cbus Super is proud of our history as one of Australia's first industry superannuation (super) funds. We were formed almost 40 years ago, when construction and building workers won the right to super,  with the purpose of helping workers achieve a decent standard of living in retirement.

The strong connection to our union heritage continues to be demonstrated today via representation of unions on our board, who work together with employer associations and independent representatives to govern the fund. Our industry partnerships with unions also enables us to support members with their super in workplaces right across the country.

Better retirement outcomes

Our number one goal is to provide the best possible retirement outcomes for our members. We continue to work hard to deliver strong-long term returns for our members with an average annual return of 8.89%^ for our default Growth (MySuper) investment option since inception in 1984.

Cbus Super products and services, and our insurance options are tailored to our industry*. At Cbus, our insurance offering takes high risk working conditions into consideration. This means our insurance product has been designed specifically with your needs in mind and you are more likely to be covered if something were to happen to you.

Cbus Super is the leading industry super fund for the building, construction, electrical, energy, power, and allied industries. We provide super and income stream accounts to more than 910,000 members and manage $85 billion of members’ money (as at 30 June 2023).
