Apprentice members are entitled to an increased rate of pay from 1 March 2013. The wage rates and allowance below are payable from the first pay period on or after 1 March 2013.
Apprentices are the lifeblood of any trade and any union. For the ETU's Apprentices Officer, Omar Merhi, recruiting and nurturing apprentices is an article of faith. In Omar's words:
"I have set myself some short and long-term goals. I want to establish a strong presence and link with all our apprentices.
We have to embrace them and ensure they realise that they are pivotal if this union is to progress and advance. ETU apprentices in Victoria are the future of the ETU and the union movement.
Apprentices are our future leaders, and I'm looking forward to supporting them in their work, their dreams and the ideas they hold dear."
