MESSAGE FROM THE SECRETARY > TROY GRAY
Protect your trade
barrage of slanderous media attacks can’t be the only voices that the public, and employers, hear about strong
and effective trade unions and hard- working union members.
We urge and endorse all members to work to the ETU Calendar in 2015. If your employers want to do anything differently, ring your Union Organiser immediately.
Follow the Leaders
Securing the Calendar is an important part of the ETU’s Follow the Leaders campaign, which is the most important campaign we’ve had to have in the last 20 years.
Everything is up for grabs.
On 1 October, 10,000 Contracting members received their last 2.5% half-yearly wage increase under their current ETU Industry Agreement. As per the correspondence we sent out to members, if your employer is strong- arming you or trying to charm you to vote on anything other than an ETU industry agreement, make sure you ring your Organiser ASAP.
With 15,000 of us in campaign mode, an aggressive Federal Government and a State election coming, members need to be across the issues and understand that to keep what we’ve got, we are really going to have to fight for it.
To repeat: We are going to have to fight to keep what we have
Now is the time to stand up and fight, and protect your trade and the living standards of your family.
